Flowers Redesigned!

When I started turning my hobby into a business, I knew that blogging was one of the elements I wanted to work on and add to my website and social media platforms. After 18 months, I am finally here….writing my first ever blog. Let me start by saying that I am definitely not a writer and for people who know me, most of the time speaking and struggling to find the right words sometimes is a struggle for me. It’s a running joke with friends and family that I tend to make up my own words or “Shannon-isms”. So, here goes nothing! I’m putting myself and my speaking/writing quirks out there for the world.

The family, friends, and community support of a small business is truly the backbone of growth. Educating that support group on the details of your product and the vision you have for your business can lead to further success.

At Redesigned, we specialize in making custom floral designs using wood flowers. Wood flowers are soft, pliable, and can be custom dyed. Our shop has an assortment of ready-to-ship forever floral arrangements. We also offer wedding and event floral arrangements that will highlight the color palette and theme of your event.

What flowers do you work with?

Sola wood flowers are a sustainable alternative to fresh-cut flowers. They are handcrafted by artisans using the plant aeschynomene aspera also known as the shola or sola plant. The flower in its natural state is a soft off-white color and has a pliable feel. Once Redesigned receives the flowers, depending on the color story of the arrangement, the creative process of coloring starts. Flowers are individually dyed using a dip process, hand-painted, or airbrush technique.

Choosing materials for each arrangement

We attentively choose flowers, colors, vessels, greenery, and filler to create each piece we make. Whether doing a designer's choice arrangement or creating designs from inspiration pictures that a client sends us, quality always comes first. One of our favorite tools to use when we are working with a client on a wedding or event is Pinterest. We can create private boards between us and our client to add inspiration pictures to create the perfect arrangements.

Reasons to choose sola flowers over fresh flowers:

~These beautiful flowers need little to no care. If they get dusty you can use a blow dryer on low with no heat. Because the flowers are made from wood it is recommended to not burn candles near them. The flowers are also best used inside. The elements of being outside can wear them down quickly.

~Allergic to floral scents...no problem.

~No need to water!

~The brides we work with love using sola flowers since their personal ceremony pieces are preserved to last forever. Not to mention the wedding party can also have a keepsake from the special day.
